SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

NO STOPPNG JOHN FORCE

With four wins in nine finals, John Force clinched his NHRA-record 16th and most recent world championship in Funny Car and became the oldest world champion at 64.

NEW EVENT IN NEW ENGLAND

In NHRA’s long-awaited first foray into the Boston area, Courtney Force defeated father John to win Funny Car. Spencer Massey, Allen Johnson, and John Hall also collected victories at New England Dragway.

FATHER AND SON CHAMPS

Matt Smith earned his second world championship in Pro Stock Motorcycle and father Rickie Smith won the Pro Mod title, the first time a father and son have won championships in the same season.

ACED IT

Top Alcohol Funny Car legend Frank “Ace” Manzo ended his driving career with an unprecedented 17th NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series championship and a win at his final event.

The former Super Comp and Top Alcohol Dragster racer and daughter of NHRA legend John Force qualified in Top Fuel at 22 of the 24 events, qualified in the top half of the field five times, and won 10 rounds of racing en route to a 13th-place finish in the final standings.
